I have a complex isosurface that is mostly closed, the inside parts of the surface connected to the outside through several holes. It consists of triangle cells.

Two quick questions regarding vtkCellLocator::IntersectWithLine.

1) If the line segment interects more than one such triangle cell in this surface, then what happens?
Which cellId is returned?

2) Now consider a line segment normal to an triangle cell on the exterior of the above isosurface. If one endpoint of the line segment used in IntersectWithLine is outside the isosurface bounding box, is it by any chance "continued back in" from the other side of the bounding box along the line collinear to the normal?

Any insight would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Regards,
