font-family:"Courier New"'>I am rendering a CT Volume using the vtkVolumeRayCastCompositeFunction
and vtkVolumeRayCastMapper. I want to map the gray levels of the resulting
projection image such that the minimum corresponds to a black and the maximum
corresponds to a white. Is there an easy way to do it or would I have to derive
from vtkVolumeRayCastMapper and do it through my own class.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

render that projected image on screen instead write it directly to disk or
create an image object. I know that I can take the output of a rendered scene
and write it to file but I don’t want the background and other objects to
be saved as well. Is there an efficient and simple way to save only the projected
image to disk or construct an image object out of it? Any pointers will be very
