| Summary | 0005740: Exodus reader needs a convention for indicating global IDs | ||||
| Description | Nodes, elements, faces, and edges may all have multiple maps associated with them in the new Exodus file format. To my knowledge, there is not currently any way to know which map represents a global ordering across multiple files. Each map may be assigned a name, but I am unaware of a convention for specifying the purpose of a map in its name. | ||||

| Additional Information | This functionality is in the current release Exodus library but is not documented in the latest (3/21/2006) manual. It is unclear how the Nemesis library interacts with this new feature. | ||||
