Summary0006068: (MARS-high) User readable/editable state files
DescriptionThe current state files are not easily readable or editable by a user. We'd like an easy to read and modify state file format to satisfy the following use-case:

case 1:
User sets up a viz on one set of files
User revises a few lines in the script file (for example, changing parameters on a threshold)
User runs the revised script file on the same dataset

case 2:
User sets up a viz on one set of files
User changes the dataset to load
User runs the revised script file on many similar datasets in batch making movies

I think implementing this will take some serious thought. I have added it as one of the 3.6 deliverables.

I think the new Python script tracing that is coming on line satisfies this requirement as good as you can get.

The new python scripting and python trace generator makes this bug obsolete. Closing.
