The way the fonts rescale is also problematic. For example, when the title is long (typical for vectors that are augmented with the component name), it is usually so small as to be unreadable.

I have significantly changed the behavior of the scalar bar. The aspect ratio of the bar itself is fixed. The fonts also do not scale with the size of the widget. The fonts are specified by a font size and scale with the size of the window (the text annotation should probably behave similarly). Because the font size is fixed, the scalar bar now attempts to fill itself by changing the precision of the labels.

All scale bars have a funny "jump" now, as they are rescaled. This only happens once per variable. I think that it is small enough that it doesn't matter.
