Hello,
No we cannot keep the first method as deprecated. It was just missing
in the first place.
Without the extra argument, the OpenGL extension will not be set properly.
I just downloaded vtk-5.6.0.tar.gz from
http://vtk.org/VTK/resources/software.html#latest
I see VTK/CMakeLists.txt has:
SET(VTK_MAJOR_VERSION 5)
SET(VTK_MINOR_VERSION 6)
SET(VTK_BUILD_VERSION 0)
Where did you get your VTK 5.6 advertising 5.7 from?
