[vtkusers] ray-casting values

Hello everyone:

    Before I start reaserching and/or writing code there is something I 
would like to now from VTK.

   Given any surface, there is any way I can get the NUMERICAL VALUE of the 
intensity of light from each visible area? (or should I implement some 
ray-casting myself? )
