Make sure that your LD_LIBRARY_PATH includes the directory containing the
VTK libraries, e.g. for a Bourne-style shell:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/local/src/VTK_bin/bin/
