I posted some changes to vtkJavaAwt.h I had made  to get successful 
builds on Mac OS X 10.2.4 to this mailing list a few days ago.  This 
resulted in somewhat functional VTK, but without the vtkPanel 
functionality (and therefore not thread-safe).  Unfortunately, I just 
updated to Java 1.4.1 (Release Version) and built VTK + Java in Carbon 
and Cocoa.  Both builds succeeded and the C++ executables work fine.  
However, I can't get any behavior with the Java examples, no windows 
appear, nothing.  I'd be very grateful for any help.
