[vtkusers] inactive window

Hi All

I am a novice vtk user. 

I want to modify points, then rerender and display each time.   I rely on console (cin) input for info on the point modification stage.  
I find that the render window becomes inactive after about 5 seconds, so I have to do all my input really quickly!

Is there a way of preventing the window from becoming inactive?
