[vtkusers] Glowing objects

Hi all,

I am new to VTK and I'm trying to render a glowing spheres. I tried using
different types of lights, specular colors for my spheres but all the
results I achieved were spheres, which reflects light, but not emit it at
all.

My idea about objects emiting light is that every object has a glow
surrounding it. How this can be achieved in your opinion ?

I'll appreciate any help!

P.P. I had an idea about a picture, placed behind the sphere and controlkled
by a vtkFollower to always face the camera and do the illusion of a light
glow. But this is not a good idea, because I will try to move the objects in
advance and this will cause moving not only the sphere, but also its
background picture.
