Thanks to C. Charles Law who developed this class.

vtkImageCacheFilter keep a number of vtkImageDataObjects from previous updates to satisfy future updates without needing to update the input. It does not change the data at all. It just makes the pipeline more efficient at the expense of using extra memory.

void vtkImageCacheFilter::PrintSelf (  ostream &    os, vtkIndent    indent )  [virtual]

Methods invoked by print to print information about the object including superclasses. Typically not called by the user (use Print() instead) but used in the hierarchical print process to combine the output of several classes. Reimplemented from vtkImageToImageFilter.

This is the maximum number of images that can be retained in memory. it defaults to 10.
